The buzz surrounding Morpheus8 microneedling created by TikTokkers, beauty editors, and celebrities isn’t fading. That’s because this innovative, nonsurgical procedure that combines microneedling with radiofrequency technology produces remarkable results. It’s still a relatively new option for improving skin texture and reducing wrinkles, so we get quite a few questions about the treatment at our medical spa.

In this post, we’ll answer many of the most common questions we hear to help you make an informed decision when considering nonsurgical services at our practice.

What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that blends microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. The FDA-cleared device delivers RF energy into the skin through ultra-thin needles. The micro-injuries created by the needles, combined with the heat generated by the RF energy, trigger a healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. The result is smoother, firmer skin.

How Long Do Morpheus8 Results Last?

The results of Morpheus8 can vary from person to person, but in general, you can expect to see initial improvements in a few weeks after the treatment. As time passes, your skin will continue improving as collagen production increases. Taking good care of and protecting your skin from the sun using quality skincare products is essential to help the results last longer. Periodic treatments can help maintain the results.

Does Morpheus8 Really Work?

Yes, Morpheus8 has shown excellent results for many people looking to improve the appearance and health of their skin. By stimulating collagen production, Morpheus8 reduces wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin texture. Having realistic expectations and maintaining good daily skincare habits is important to get the most out of your treatments.

Is Morpheus8 Safe for All Skin Types?

Among the benefits of the Morpheus8 treatment compared to laser skin treatments is that it’s safe for patients with darker skin. There is minimal risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, a complication associated with laser treatments performed on patients with dark skin.

How Soon Can You Exercise After Morpheus8 Treatment?

We recommend avoiding vigorous exercise and activities that make you sweat or expose your skin to excessive heat for a few days to a week. This gives your skin time to heal properly and reduces the risk of complications. We provide thorough instructions to follow after the treatment.

Can You Customize Morpheus8 Treatments?

Absolutely! At the Skin Clinic, we customize Morpheus8 treatments using different handpieces and choose 1 of 3 fractional tips with varying microneedle configurations. The standard Morpheus8 treatment uses a tip with 24 needles. For smaller, more delicate areas, such as around the eye, we use the Morpheus Prime tip with 12 extremely fine needles. We also have a tip designed for skin resurfacing. Additionally, we adjust each patient’s treatment depth, intensity, and number of passes over the skin.

Does a Morpheus8 Treatment Hurt?

Before beginning the treatment, your provider applies a topical numbing cream to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. Some patients say they experience a prickly or tingling sensation as the provider stamps the Morpheus8 device throughout the targeted area.
