Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Clayton Crantford embodies our commitment to aesthetic excellence. As one of the few plastic surgeons in Charleston and all of South Carolina with additional fellowship training endorsed by The Aesthetic Society®, he provides exceptional expertise in plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body.
Alongside his fellow surgeons, Dr. Crantford delivers natural-looking results with a compassionate and genuine approach that puts patients at ease at each step of their experience.
Dr. Crantford is a native of South Carolina who was born and raised in Columbia. He attended the Honors College at the University of South Carolina, where his success earned him selection into the respected Phi Beta Kappa Society. After graduating at the top of his class with a degree in mathematics, he enrolled in medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and was awarded the Rich Scholarship for academic performance. Dr. Crantford graduated at the top of his class and was honored with admission to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
After medical school, Dr. Crantford was selected to train in the prestigious integrated plastic surgery program at Wake Forest University. At Wake Forest, he trained with leaders in plastic surgery and medical innovation. As a resident, he and a co-resident were honored by the North Carolina Society of Plastic Surgery with the Nicholas Georgiade Award for the best resident research project.
After completing 6 years of plastic surgery training, he was invited to join the internationally recognized Hunstad/Kortesis/Bharti Center for Plastic Surgery as a fellow. The fellowship is one of a select few in the world that is endorsed by The Aesthetic Society. During his fellowship, Dr. Crantford refined his skills in advanced aesthetic plastic surgery training and continued to publish and present medical research.
Dr. Crantford has authored multiple journal articles and book chapters on advanced techniques in liposuction, facelift, gluteal augmentation, and various reconstructive procedures. He regularly presents at industry meetings such as the Aesthetic Meeting, the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Global Conference on Medical Cosmetology and Trichology.
Dr. Crantford enjoys international medical missions and continues to travel to Africa and South America to provide medical care to the underserved. In his free time, he enjoys leading an active lifestyle and spending time with his family and friends.
