How Is a Forehead or Brow Lift Performed?
During the outpatient procedure, our surgeons use tiny incisions hidden along the hairline to lift and reposition the skin and tissues of the upper face. The muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and eyebrows are raised for a natural, yet more youthful appearance.
Can I Combine a Forehead or Brow Lift With Other Procedures?
People often combine a brow lift with a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to correct both a sagging brow and drooping of puffy eyelids. If you are looking to rejuvenate both your upper and mid to lower face, you may choose to combine your forehead or brow lift with a facelift.
What Happens During A Consultation
Because we want to create your ideal surgical results, the consultation is a critical part of the process. Your surgeon will walk you through your options and help you make choices that align with your anatomy and goals. This time will also be used to conduct a thorough medical history and address all your concerns and questions.
You will have another preoperative appointment closer to the date of your surgery. At this time, you will sign the consent forms, have photos and measurements taken, and receive detailed instructions for before and after surgery. Please adhere to these instructions closely as they are instrumental in ensuring your safety and comfort.
How Long Is Recovery After a Forehead or Brow Lift?
Recovery typically takes about 10 days, with most people returning to work after 1 to 2 weeks. Expect to experience some swelling and bruising during the first couple of weeks. Sleeping with your head elevated is a great way to minimize swelling and fluid build-up in your treated area.
Do Forehead or Brow Lifts Leave Scars?
This procedure does leave very small scars on the scalp. However, they are hidden behind the hairline and are typically barely visible once healed.
