Breast BEFORE & AFTER Patient 195: Breast Augmentation with GalaFLEX

Before & After

A 24-year-old female patient underwent bilateral breast augmentation with internal soft-tissue support using GalaFLEX under the care of Dr. Crantford in Charleston, South Carolina. Implant selection included Motiva RSF implants, with a 335cc implant placed in the right breast and a 315cc implant placed in the left breast to optimize symmetry. The procedure was performed to achieve a balanced, natural-appearing enhancement while providing additional soft-tissue support. Photos are shown at 1 year post-op.

Because these photos were taken a full year after surgery, they show the true final result of pairing breast augmentation with GalaFLEX support rather than an interim stage of healing. The GalaFLEX scaffold is designed to reinforce the soft tissue around the implant as it’s gradually absorbed by the body, helping maintain implant position over the long term. At 1 year post-op, this patient’s results show durable symmetry and a natural, well-supported contour.

What is GalaFLEX, and why add it to breast augmentation?

GalaFLEX is a bioabsorbable mesh that reinforces the soft tissue surrounding a breast implant. As the material is gradually absorbed, it stimulates the body’s own collagen production, creating lasting internal support that helps maintain implant position and reduce the risk of shifting over time.

Why do 1-year post-op photos matter more than earlier results?

Breast augmentation results continue to change for several months after surgery as swelling resolves and the implants fully settle. Photos at 1 year show the true, stable outcome rather than an interim stage of healing, which is especially useful for evaluating techniques like GalaFLEX that are meant to provide long-term support.
