What are Chemical Peels?
A chemical peel is an aesthetic treatment that uses a unique chemical solution to remove the top layers of skin. The skin will then grow back flawless and more youthful. They can address a number of skin concerns, including lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and uneven skin texture.
At CC Plastics + Skin Clinic, we offer two different chemical peels: BioRePeel and VI Peel.
BioRePeel
BioRePeel is a chemical peel treatment that exfoliates away dead skin cells and stimulates collagen and elastin production to achieve a youthful and more radiant complexion. This treatment works well on all skin types and can be used on the face, neck, chest, back, and hands.
VI Chemical Peel
The VI chemical peel was specifically designed to rejuvenate and refresh your skin and help you achieve a firmer, smoother, and renewed-looking appearance. Whether you’re struggling with early signs of aging, uneven skin texture, or other concerns, this is likely the perfect aesthetic treatment option for your needs. And because it’s so gentle, it’s perfect for anyone with sensitive skin.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?
Chemical peels work by using specific chemical solutions to remove the top layers of the skin and stimulate new skin growth. By removing this top layer of skin, the treatment triggers the skin’s natural healing process and boosts collagen and elastic production. As the skin heals and rejuvenates, it leaves you with a flawless and younger-looking complexion.
Benefits of Chemical Peels
- Minimally-invasive, nonsurgical, and pain-free treatment
- Improves skin tone and texture
- Customizable to achieve your unique needs
- Addresses a number of skin concerns, including lines and wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars
Who is an Ideal Candidate for Chemical Peels?
Ideal candidates for chemical peels are generally healthy individuals who have acne-prone or congested skin, struggle with pigmentation or scarring, and/or are looking for a gentle but highly effective treatment. We also recommend good candidates be nonsmokers and be willing to stick to a quality skincare regimen.
Preparing for a Chemical Peel
There are a few different steps you can take to prepare for your chemical peel appointment. You will want to avoid exfoliating your skin and stop using any skincare products with retinol. We also recommend drinking plenty of water, minimizing your sun exposure, and avoiding tweezing, shaving, and waxing the treatment area.
What to Expect from a Chemical Peel
To start your chemical peel, we’ll start by cleansing the skin. From there, we’ll apply your unique chemical solution to your skin. At most, you may feel a slight warmth or a tingling sensation. The solution will be allowed to sit on the skin for a certain period of time and then will be gently removed. At most, your treatment will take about 30 minutes.
Chemical Peel Results
Depending on the depth of your chemical peel, you will likely start to see results within 7-10 days. During that period, the skin will start to peel, and new skin cells will begin to regenerate.
As your skin heals and builds up collagen and elastin, you will see the final results within a few weeks.
How often you receive a chemical peel depends on the depth of the chemical peel you’re having done. Light peels can be done once a month, medium peels can be done every few months, and deep peels may be performed every few years.
